Con la organización del Congreso Mundial Croata y de Organizatori bez granica, en julio próximo en Zagreb se desarrollarán los 5° Juegos Mundiales Croatas. Es una competencia deportiva amateur en la que participan los croatas y sus descendientes de todo el mundo, representando el país en el que ellos viven.
Pueden participar todas las personas que tengan raíces croatas, independientemente de su ciudadanía, religión, idioma o pertenencia a alguna asociación, organización o simpatía política. Los juegos extraoficialmente se les llama “Croolimpíadas!”.
El objetivo es conectar a los jóvenes croatas e incentivar su identidad croata, el regreso a la patria y futuras inversiones en la República de Croacia. Los Juegos hasta ahora se celebraron en 2006 y 2010 en Zadar y en 2014 y 2017 en Zagreb y el número de participantes fue creciendo y en los últimos se registraron más de 1000 competidores de 33 países.
La edad de los competidores es a partir de los 16 años, debiendo ser los menores de edad acompañados por uno de sus padres o tutores. Los competidores de países extranjeros pueden obtener alojamiento el 24 de julio y registrarse a su llegada. Todos los demás competidores llegan el 25 de julio, antes del mediodía, se registran y todos participan juntos en la ceremonia de apertura de la tarde. Las competiciones se organizan por edades.
Si hay interés en un deporte que no figura en el folleto, se aceptará y organizará con la condición de que se registre un número suficiente de competidores. No se excluye que no haya suficientes inscripciones para algunos de los deportes mencionados, por lo que en ese caso los competidores serían asignados, según preferencia personal, a alguna otra disciplina.
A todos los competidores los espera alojamiento gratis y las comidas, así como camisetas y un programa cultural y de entretenimiento dentro del Hogar Estudiantil Stjepan Radić. Los costos de viaje están a cargo de los competidores.
El Congreso Mundial Croata organiza la llegada de los competidores y Organizatori bez Granica (Organizadores sin Fronteras) organizan la implementación de los Juegos, así como otras tareas operativas relacionadas con la sede de los Juegos, la Ciudad de Zagreb.

¿Hay que abonar algo?
La inscripción a los Juegos es gratuita. El costo del ticket aéreo está a cargo de cada participante.
El idioma, ¿es un requisito para participar?
Conocer el idioma croata no es condicionante para participar en los Juegos.
¿Desde qué edad se puede participar?
Desde los 16 años en adelante, sin límite de edad.
¿Cómo se dividen las categorías?
Categoría jóvenes: de 16 a 39 años.
Categoría veteranos: de 40 años en adelante.
¿Los menores deberán ir acompañados o simplemente podrán concurrir con alguna autorización?
Los participantes de 16 y 17 años de edad deberán ir acompañados. Los acompañantes podrán inscribirse en la maratón (kros) que se realizará el último día.
¿Se podrá participar en más de una disciplina?
Los participantes podrán anotarse en las disciplinas que deseen. Estas se confirmarán al cierre de la inscripción final.
¿Cómo se estima que será el cronograma de los juegos?
Se informará en la Sede una vez presentes los participantes.
¿Cómo se conformarán los equipos numerosos?
Para conformar equipos de numerosos participantes, como el fútbol, se buscará, prioritariamente, agrupar a jugadores oriundos de un mismo país. Si esto no es posible por falta de inscriptos, se agruparán participantes de distintos países.
Si un participante quedara inmediatamente descalificado, ¿podrá anotarse en otra disciplina?
Depende de los casos y de las disciplinas. Esta información se dará en la Sede.
¿Pueden participar cónyuges aunque no sean de ascendencia croata?
Sí.
Los participantes, ¿deberán presentar algún apto médico?
No, ya que es una competencia amateur.
¿Los participantes deberán concurrir con algún atuendo especial o llevar algo que los identifique con su país de origen?
Se proveerá a los participantes de ropa deportiva y bandera.
Personalmente cada participante podrá llevar lo que desee.
¿Se deberá abonar algún tipo de seguro?
Cada participante deberá contratar su propio seguro. La organización de los Juegos no asume ninguna responsabilidad en este aspecto.
¿Existirá alguna cobertura médica en caso de que un participante sufra alguna lesión?
No. La cobertura médica correrá por cuenta de cada participante.
¿Se proveerá de hospedaje y comida a los participantes?
Cada participante será provisto de hospedaje, comida y bebidas (no alcohólicas) durante toda la estadía.
En caso de quedar descalificado, el participante ¿deberá abandonar su hospedaje y comida?
No. Podrá gozar de los beneficios hasta la finalización de los Juegos.
¿Desde qué día podrá hospedarse un participante?
Los participantes provenientes de países transoceánicos podrán gozar del hospedaje y comida desde el día anterior al inicio de los Juegos.
